Lydia’s Friends

“A public library is the most democratic thing in the world.” –Doris Lessing

Lydia’s Friends is Dummerston’s own friends-of-the-library group.

We are committed to promoting the success of the Lydia Taft Pratt Library. Lydia’s Friends engages in fundraising activities and advocates for the necessity of our town library.

To keep our library vibrant, Lydia’s Friends hosts an annual Geranium Festival & Book Sale, raises funds for our Museum Passes program, and lends our voice at Town Meeting.

We are always looking for new members. No contribution is too small.

Crepe Night at Scott Farm - July 2, 2025

Volunteer for Crepe Night at Scott Farm on Wednesday, July 2! Lydia’s Friends needs two shifts of volunteers: 3-4 volunteers from 1 to 4:30 and 4-5 volunteers from 4:30 to 8:00.

Volunteers will help with food prep, setup, then serving and break down. Of course, a free meal will be yours to enjoy.

This fun event will raise funds to continue our museum pass program and increase awareness of our library's resources in town.

Hazelnuts Duo will be playing.

If you would like to volunteer or have questions, contact Catherine O'Callaghan at catherineocallaghan32@gmail.com or (802) 380-7935.
